Going to be picking up on of these quads in the next couple days. Looking for some pros and cons between the two. I will be mostly ridding it the woods but also will be on some tracks. I know the Honda is a little cheaper but may be built better than the yami. Looking for good reliability and good power. Any input would be great.

Put a 13 tooth front sprocket on a TRX450 and you're good to go. You have to be better with the clutch and the revs on the YFZ, almost like a two-stroke. Plus, the 450R supposedly has more low-end.

I know the yfz will win in a drag but honda has always been more reliable and from what i've
read and from what i've driven the honda is a more of a trail machine the yfz ,mx
but it is kinda a toss up especially when you factor in the price

If it was me and I was planning on riding mostly in the woods...I would go with one of 3 quads Suzuki Z400, Kawasaki KFX400, or the Arctic Cat DVX400....all the same quad lol but they have reverse....reverse means a lot when your riding in the woods.....these quads are very well on the track...not as fast as the YFZ450 and the 450R though.

For a quad that weighs what, 360-370 lbs. with fluids, is it really necessary to have reverse? I can see if you're just lazy as hell, but it shouldn't be that hard to get off and pull a 360lbs. object on wheels a few feet.

Seems like the Honda is more trail oriented. Reverse is not a big deal for me nor is having to use a kick starter. From what a hear, all I need to do it drop a tooth on the front sprocket and Im good to go From sitting on both bikes at the dealer ship The Honda seems more comfortable, and I like the position of everything to. The Yamaha feels like your sitting on a R6.

You can call it lazy if you like....but I couldn't tell you how many guys I've lined up beside at the starting gate and they tell me how much they wish their bike had reverse....wither it's for trails....or just because you may have pulled up a little to far on the gate.....it's just nice to have it! So yeah i guess i'm lazy.....although I do work 2 jobs for a total of 52 hours a week and race every weekend......yeah I'm also standing in line for welfare......and my girl just got pregnant and she's signing up for WIC....lazy I tell ya......LOL
