Hey yall, I have a 02 scrambler 400 and my brother has a 04 pred. I was wondering if you could tell me what mods i would need to keep up with him in a drag race or slightly beat him (both are stock). Thanks in advance

 

put it on a diet. clutch kit, pipe and jet it and change your sprockets for starters. Then possibly even a big bore kit for your machine.

HPD trail mod. About 65hp at the crank. Or you can really step it up to the race mod or Powermaxx kit. so i should be able to take him with the trail mod or will the weight still be a factor?? I also have another question where or how do you race cut your plastic??

 

You will take him in a drag race, but he may still catch you on top end. Cutting the weight down will help a lot too.

 

tape off the area of how you would like your fenders to look. then take a fine tooth saw or a dremel and cut them.
this was just posted the other day. if you do a search in polaris forum about it. You can get a bunch of options on how everyone has cut theirs.

 

Hey Scrambler02 do you go to Kermit to ride? I ride there almost every weekend. If you get the trail mod you can beat a Pred. I have.

 

If you put your quad on a diet all you can beat a stock pred without touching anything inside the motor just with bolt ons. I still don't have porting and i can easily beat any stock quad.

 

Yes i ride at the kermit dunes, I havent been there in a few weeks though.
