Rubicon Head Lights
#1
Has any Rubicon owners had problems with the lower headlight lenses condensating? I've noticed mine condesating quite a bit. Ok, I know it says in the manual that the quad is designed for no more then 9-10 inches of water.....and also in the "cleaning your atv" section. It says that when washing the atv, you may notice condensation in the head light. It says to turn the brights on with the engine running (saves battery) and the heat will dry up the moisture.
I experienced a shattered bulb and I'm thinking it is a result of to much moisture on the hot bulb. I'm thinking of sealing them with silicone.
I just called and ordered 3 bulbs... $5 a piece, that wasn't too bad. I still wouldn't trade Ruby Red for any other quad (after 200 miles).
Any thoughts or similar experiences.

Beav, haven't seen any moisture in the headlights at all so far. Haven't driven it in any water or washed it though. Those are some bright headlights. Did you have a chance to go on a "night ride" with it yet? I have to agree with you on your last statement, the Rubicon is one heck of a quad. It's no wonder why it costs so much, the spark plug alone costs $26 for a replacement!

Haven't noticed any condensation after a pressure wash effort. But, was glancing back and forth between my Rubicon and Foreman ES, and it appears that possibly the Foreman ES glass headlight would fit in the Rubicon? I would guess the plastic light on the Rubicon was a weight saving thing to keep the total unit under 600 lbs.
