Default SP 700 Tire Rub

I just bought a set of 27" Mudlites on ITP series 6 wheels for my 700 EFI. I get a little tire rub when the front suspension compresses at speed or when I hit a sharp rut or ledge. At slow speed all is fine. The tires seem to rub on the seam in the front fenderwell where the side guards and the fender bolt together. Any solutions for this (besides a lift) or just let 'er rub? I have heard that you can adjust the fender position or I thought about taking those side guards off and cutting the seam off of the fender but I thought that this might cause the fender to flop around. Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance.
