Default 400 carb on a 250

Would a stock 400 carb make a difference for a 250?

How much?

It will make a difference but if you are stock then you wont notice much. The 400 carb will bolt right up you just have to jet down.

Well I just bought a 39 pwk carb and was wondering if my stock 400 carb would help out someone with a 250...

How much bigger is the bore on that carb, over a stock carb for a 250. The biggest problem in going to a bigger carb, is the velocity drops. And if the velocity drops, the torque does too. The bigger carb may make the top of the rpm band run stonger, but the low rpm will suffer.

250 carb is 30MM and the 400 carb is 34MM. I have a 34MM on our trail Boss, but was a pain to get jetted right. I think mudmaster250 maybe looking for a carb.
