Default 700 EFI Horsepower

My friend just recently got a new 04 SP 700 EFI, and she is very pleased with it. She said it does an 70mph which is extremely good for a 720lb machine, but I was wondering how much horsepower the twin powerplant produces. If anyone knows could you post it.

That is very interesting. Where did you get that number from? The stock information from our polaris dealer said it is 42hp, which he said is the most polaris has had.

the polaris 500 ho motor pushes like 36 or 38 hp so its believeable that the 700 efi is pushing 50hp,but i really dont know..

It's really 50.4HP. The carb 700 twin pumps out 45HP, this new EFI pumps out 12% more HP. So doing the math will give you that number. Now you do know this number will be different from ATV to ATV, but this is the number Polaris put out. From what I understand, it pumps out very close to the same amount of power as the Kawi 697cc power plant.

I know it is the most powerful polaris atv, and I am not knocking polaris, becuase I think the are very good machines, but the kawa 697cc motor puts out 57hp. That is the maximum allowed by the american atv safety councle inorder for them to approve of the bike. Our local polaris dealer also sells kawa and he showed me the ratings on paper and the polaris efi is 42hp.

I read in one of the mags that the Kawi V-Force puts out 50HP. You do have that same motor don't you? But going by what Polaris threw at us when the 700 twin came out (45 HP) and them saying this one has 12% more HP than the 700 twin, you get 50.4 HP. I'm just going by the facts that are out there, I don't have a dyno or anything. I also know your not trying to knocking Polaris, but I'm not making these numbers up. Maybe someone that has a site we can view giving these numbers will pop in (btw these are not the HP numbers at the rear wheels) I don't have that number, but I hear it gets more power to the ground that the old 700.
