That is the maximum allowed by the american atv safety councle inorder for them to approve of the bike. Our local polaris dealer also sells kawa and he showed me the ratings on paper and the polaris efi is 42hp.

The P700 has less timing and different cams, it makes less hp. So I would put it around 45 at the crank at the very most.

All test performed on a Dynojet ATV/Cart Dyno
We run a Dyno Service for Quads here and here is what I went and looked up from the records we keep.
Regular Carbed 700 with 42mm carb and HSP Exhaust has 31 rwhp and will run 67.9 MPH
700 EFI with HSP Pipe and HSP Airbox Mod will produce 33 hp at rear wheels and will run 74.689 MPH
My Prairie by contrast will put out 30 HP with the rear jet moved forward, 145 in the rear and an HMF complete system and run 69.461 MPH
A 700 bone stock will run 32 HP and 69.508 MPH
To read about the predator you can go here as well I posted this some time ago when we first ran the EFI

Sorry for the miss infor. I talked to my dealer saturday and the prairie 700 has 52hp while the polaris efi has 50hp. The regular polaris 700 has 45hp. He showed me the factory specs sheets. I must have ment 47hp for the kawa 650 prairie when I said 57. My bad. All of these numbers are at the motor, not the ground. That is what the spec sheets said at the top. He told me that all anyone has to do is go their dealers as ask for the mfg official spec sheets and you can see them. He said he will make copies for me next week, so I will try to scan them in and show them. Bottom line is both machines put out the most hp and both are great machines. I have a 700 kawa prairie and it is great, but I would take a 700efi polaris too becuase it is awsome too.

I would also be curious as to if the dyno put a simulated load on the engine. For instance, you said the top speed was about 75. Well, will it do 75 on the road, pulling it's weight with a rider and against air resistance? Just curious. Because my Rincon, with no resistance (on a jack) will do 68 Mph bouncing off the rev limiter as fast as it can. But on the road it will do 65 hitting rev limiter, but not as quick as it was on the jack.
