trail to sand...
#1
Hi guys,
What needs done to the ds Before I hit the sand?
eg. a friend was telling me to pressure wash all the lube off my chain and run
a dry chain so sand does not build up on chain and eat up gears.
Any thing else?
Like maybe a k/n filter instead of stock? or a filter sock over filter?
Any info will help, thanks. 1st time in the sand.
I am thinking about going to silver lake this weekend.
wife has to work all weekend so i might just take
put the ds in the back of the truck and go to silver lake, MI.

I would just take some old shop towels and whipe down any residue off of your chain.
The stock air filter will work just fine. The only thing you might want to pickup are a good set of 22" sand tires (haulers, sandskate II's, Sandstars) and a 15T front sprocket.

I run Miaxima chain wax. I never have sand stick to the chain. I'd wipe up the extra grease around the zerks though.
I run 20" extreme haulers. I think they do OK for me. Lots of guys like 22"s though. I'm not real powerful though so....
You DON'T NEED paddles. But on a heavy DS they help. Silver Lake is pretty tame really.
You know about the vouchers right?
BTW, saw a BAJAX at my dealer. I was drooling.... oh well.
