How much work would be involved in putting a 250X kickstarter on my 300? I know it can be done and my plastic already has a spot for the kickstarter.Would it be very hard to kick with out a compression release lever? Any comments would be appreciated.

I don't if it's possible of not..

but you would have to change your entire right side case(I think thats correct side)

and install all the gears for the Starter..

Compression release on a 282? no need!

first of all why put a 250x kickstart on a 300ex??
Personally i dont think it is possible without a compression release lever. I have a recoil pull start and it is almost impossible without the lever. Just take a hint and forget about trying. Just trying to save ya some time and lots of confusion...............

I saw a guy who had a mint 87 250x. His compression release was adjusted wrong and he had to bum start the bike. the kick starter would barely go down. So i know u would need a compression release. maybe if you changed the head where the cable for the release goes and the side case you can use the compression release. But that would take too much time and cost some bucks.

i didn't think they were that needed. A friend of mine had a 250x, and i started it. His compression release was broke according to him..

it was a bit stiff to kick, but totally possible..

On a 300EX it's just an emeregency thing

Find a TRX 300 ultility quad and try to kick it over with out the compression release, that should give you an idea of how hard it would be.

Yes but, the 300ex has less compression then the 250x.
