First ride on new bike...??????Help?

I'm 34 Kinda big 275lbs. I had some medical problems that left me without a quad, It took me a while to be able to ride "hard" again. Glamis is where I usualy go. For the last two years I was borrowing my friends Mojave 250. I got to where I could thow that F-er around like I was on a skateboard but A: it wasn't mine. And B: it was underpowered as hell. A year or so back a different friend let me ride is wife's Warrior. So once I got enough cash I bought me an 88, just a few weeks ago. Today was the first time I got to take it out. I went with my friend and his Mojave. (maybe a bad idea) Today we only went to a dry lake bed and trail area with lots of whoops. First thing I noticed was my Warrior is HUGE!!! What I'd do to normaly throw my a$$ off the side of the Mojave was just moving half way over the seat. NOT working the rear wheels at all. I didn't think I got them to break loose once. (good traction? poor control?) With the Mojave I could lean back and roll the front over whoops two or three at a tme. With the Warrior I could BARELY do two and land on top of the whoop. No Torque, couldn't really find anything like a powerband. On the dry lake bed he kicked my butt from a dead start BUT took me a good 1/2 mile to catch him. If we both "got on it" while he was in 5th and I was in 6th I BARELY walked away from him. We were taking pictures and I know how to get air but this thing would only get three wheels MAX off the ground. One thing I did like was when climbing a rocky hill I downshifted and it was right there with power. The Mojave once it slowed down "that's all she wrote". I like the electric start. Gotta get used to the different Reverse set up. But the thing is like a lumbering Cadalaic sled that will get there eventually but won't be rushed. Or is it the rider? Mods? or wrong bike for me? Thanks in advance for any advice you could give me. Kinda a disapointing first run.
Sorry to have written a novel.

Well I just had a warrior last year and i can tell you first of all for your age and weight, u probably need a lighter and more powerful bike....the warrior has never been a good jumping bike for even lighter riders, nor is it good on whoops or for mx because its top heavy...i would suggest a banshee or the new yfz450 they are lighter than the warrior but have more power to do more with...hope i helped, peace bro
