Default grizzly problem

I took the grizz out this weekend and every time I hit the rear brakes there's this terrible grinding noise . I know its not the brakes , it sound almost like the trans is popping out of gear . Has anyone else expirenced this ? Is there a spec for adjusting the shifter linkage ?

How do you know that it is not the breaks?

my dad has a grizz and when he is giong down a hill and hits the rear brakes he hears the same noise. that noise is part of the braking system because we even went back to the dealer about this problum and said it is nothing to worry about.

mine makes a weird noise when i'm going down a hill in 2 wheel drive and hit the brakes also. I think it has something to do with the engine braking.

If the noise you are hearing sounds like lose metal coming from under the mid-bike, it's normal. It is the type of transmission. Other bikes make the same noise ie. KVF700. It makes more noise in the 2 X 4 mode, especially going down a bumpy hill and braking. Info from my dealer.

If it is a clanky noise when hitting the rear breaks, it is normal. If it is some kind of grinding noise I would look into it further.

Default grizzly problem

At around 1500kms my 02 grizzly was making the same grinding noise when hitting the brakes. Everyone always commented on that wierd sound out on the trail.. I thought it was normal after seeing other people talking about it... But later, when I changed my rear brake pads, I found that the brake disk on the rear axle was loose. There are about 6 bolts holding it on.. After tighting them up, I have not heard the same noise... You should see if this could be your problem..??
