Sand mt, Nv was awesome!

We got back late sunday night and what a trip it was! The king of the hill competition was won by a red banshee tripple (ran 89mph up the hill) not sure of who owns it maybe someone else knows?? It also did 188hp on the dyno! Louie from Twister had his tripple out and it ran a respectable 84mph, when the two tripples raced they were neck and neck so go figure. There were lots more VERY fast quads out, most were big drag banshees and some snowmobile powered stuff. I read another post that AZsand had his turbo out there, I'm very sorry I didn't get to see it I did see the Busa powered DS but never saw him on the hil. What a great weekend!! I'll get some pics up in a day or so...

Looked for you. Never saw the bumper.
Was a little windy on Thursday and Friday but, the sand those days was Awesome!
Had fun on the hill.
There were a couple fast 4-strokes out there. I think a few were Spark's bikes then there was a couple YFZ's too. I think one was on the bottle but, it did very well.
Jeff missed all the fun but, brought the big bike out to clean up any leftovers.
Highlights:
The girls tanning on the Weekend Warrior near the drags
Bouncing big b___ banshee girl
A couple pools (big pools! - filled by water-trucks.)
Seeing the aftermath of a truck that rolled down the hill (no one got hurt.)
The look of a Banshee after it hit a DS head-on. . . and the look of the DS - There is a reason they weigh so much! DS took it like a man!
Awesome riding
View from the top of the hill at night. . . have to experience it. Awesome looking down on all the camp sites.
Fun drags
Good 4-stroke competition
Thursday night in our camp. . . had to be there. . .
Jeff's new rig. . . still don't know how he got his Wife thinking He let Her get it now He needs something for himself???
Seeing some of the Fella's - AZ, Jetsnow, Jeff, Lowbowtie, etc.
The ranger that had teeth like Chevy Chase in Fletch when he plays off being an airplane mechanic. . . couldn't stop laughing at her.
And. . . didn't see life flight once!

I must also say that the authorities (BLM??) that were in charge of the area were great and very friendly, they actually wanted people to have a good time. The forestry service in charge of the Oregon dunes could learn from those guys!!

They did seem to have a better group this time. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case over the last few trips and because of that there is friction between the ranger's and the camper's.
I think what they forget sometimes is that it takes a long time for a positive relationship to be built and a very short time for a bad relationship to develop. Unfortunately, my experiences of unwarranted harrassment have left a bad taste in my mouth when dealing with the officials out there. This time when I was approached with a valid item (we were reserving camping space for friends who hadn't shown yet - which is against the rules) I didn't back down. The Ranger was diplomatic but, my previous experience with them prevented her from doing her job this time around.
Oh, one more highlight. . . the BLM Rail limping back to camp on a couple flat tires.

Mark, I knew she would flex again... I didnt have enough tail lights to satisfy her this time. I wanted to night ride, Ranger was player hating...LOL I still want to make a trip up there soon... It seems like the rangers are real cool when you first pull in, but At night that one ranger just looks for trouble. She had me furious last time, I can believe its getting worse. And they wonder why there is friction. I understand people need to follow rules and all, But c-mon, My tail light went out and I had 15 BRIGHT glo tubes on my grab bar , but she still made me go back to camp. The other ranger was shaking his head "yes" when I asked if these lights were sufficient, But she came un-glued and said "NO" and insisted I dont ride @ night w/ out "proper" OEM tail light.

Wow.. that was not what happened for me at all. I took off going around the back side of the mountain for some bowl action and looked behind me and a BLM buggy was chasing me with his lights on. So I stopped and some old guy in the rail said he chased me for some time to tell me I had no whip. I thought for sure that was gonna cost some duckies but he said just ride with someone else back to camp and get a whip put on. I thanked him a rode off. I was actually kinda shocked...

Seems like maybe they had a different attitude this time. Too bad I had my bad attitude from last time I had a run in with them.
Hopefully this is a perm. change.
Awe. . . now I feel guilty for how I treated the Rangers. . .
But, those flat tires on the Ranger Rail were still funny
