Well I have wanted an ATV forever now and I am about to get one. I have access to all types of terrian and will also use it for deer feeding chores and hunting. I was pretty much set on the 500 HO until my uncle decided he wanted an ATV also and he is all about more power. He has now almost convinced me to get a 700 EFI like he is getting.

Really the only thing that is holding me back is the 500 has been out awhile while the 700 EFI is a new design. I work in the automobile industry (GM Tech) and know all about new products and their bugs that need worked out. I really like the idea of more power and the EFI system along with the other benifits of the 700, what is your guys take on it? Should I just bite the bullet and go with the 700 EFI or stick with the 500 HO. I know some of you might say I could just go with the 700 carb, but for some reason if I go 700 it will be the EFI model.

I have heard the 700 EFI has 50hp compared to the 500 HO's 36hp that to me is alot more power is it really that much?

I have a 02 500 ho x and love it,can't say much about the 700 though.Efi would defenitely be nice.My 500 has more than enough power to do all of my chores(plowing snow,hauling wood,and hauling carrots)and is still good on gas.I've heard the 700's like their gas and the top speed differance is very little.What ever your choice you can't go wrong, but the 500's have been around for along time.just my two cents worth.------- bodean[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I had a 700 and just sold it because of al the bad luck I have had with it. I won't ever buy another one but the 500HO I would not hesitate to buy. It does have most of the bugs worked out and is a more reliable quad.

 

The EFI IS the 4th generation of the 700.I have owned them,gone thru updates ,etc.The EFI is far superior to the early versions.The fuel inj. system was the answer to the fuel problems,the new rear clutch does not clunk as bad,better,more linear power.

 

Well I guess I am going to get the 700 EFI he didnt have the mossy oak 700 EFI in stock so it should be here the 16th. I cant wait!!!
