Default 450R Kick Starter Problem

Just wondering if anyone knows where to get the little thingy that keeps the kick starter from flopping around after the stock screw comes out and the kicker falls off. I thought I'd just put too much grease in it when i put it back together, but uppon closer inspection, there is a hole on the back side of the kicker...uh...****...(the thing the kicker fits onto.) And I'm thinking there was some kind of spring loaded ball or something, because it lines right up with a smaller hole on the kicker.

Should this be covered under my warantee? Seems like it... I guess I'll take it in on Monday and have them fix it.

Has anyone with a 450r ran into this problem? My kicker just flops around...Pain the butt when I'm riding.

The screw comes loose in all them. Loctite it and tighten the crap out of it......

I did the loctite thing, and tightened it as much as I can, but it still flops around. I'm sure there must be somthing in there that locks the kicker in the "forward" position, when not in use, so that it stays recessed in the plastic...

You are correct, there is a ball bearing that fits on the end of a spring. Go to www.servicehonda.com, the TRX450 parts illustration is on their web site but the TRX450 is on Adobe Reader so you need that on your computer to view the parts breakdown. It's on page 82 and it shows the spring and the ball bearing. Item number 5 is the spring, part number is 28333-124-000 and item number 17 is the steel ball, part number is 96211-08000.

I called the local Honda shop, and they have to special order the pieces, but they didn't seem to have a problem with the warantee.

It's only about $3 worth of parts, but I figured that unless those of us that are having this problem submit a warantee request, Honda may not know there is a problem. The service guy actually agreed with me!
