Lately my 400EX hasn't been shifting as smooth as it should. Sometime, when I ride hard it will stick in a gear and won't come out until I slow down the revs. I think it is probably my clutch, but I would like to hear what others have to say first. I've had this fourwheeler a year now, without ever changing or adjusting the clutch. So, what do you think. Clutch?

I just changed the oil and filter a little while ago. I used Mobil 1 15w/50. Should I use something different?

The oil is not the problem.

How does the bike react when idling in neutral, pulling in the clutch and shifting into gear? Does it lurch forward and lower the RPMs? If so, adjust your clutch...

Have you ever had the clutch really hot or run the bike low on oil?

You didn't put the filter in backwards did you (you would probably know by now )

And no, in most 4 stroke bikes the tranny oil and engine oil are one in the same.
