bored .080 hello i work in a machine shop and i redone cylinder in my 1998 blaster. i polished out all scrathes and then crosshatched cylinder. my question is this??
how long after i install new piston and rings before i will be able to hammer on the throttle like old times??
how long should i ride easy for rings to seat??? thanks for any advice.

go through about 3 heat cycles, just letting it idle for 5-10 minutes, then let it cool down completely each time befor starting it up again, now for ur first ride, warm it up to operating temps and ride at a mderate pace not being to heavy on the throttle but never at a steady rpm vary it always for about 10 min, let it cool down again, repeat this again, let it cool down now ride at a more aggresive pace not exceeding 3/4 throttle and varying the rpm for 10 minutes, do this once more and u should be at full compression, ur best bet wuld be to check ur compression after every step to see where ur at. also it is very important that u warm it up befor each step and also let it cool down properly, this is ur safest break in procedure, it can be done much faster but by the looks of it u havnt brokin very many top ends yourself so this would be ur best bet
