Default Sprayer for my 04.5 500 HO

I'm looking into getting a sprayer to put on the rear rack and need to know how to wire it. The sprayer has this 2 plug setup and I was wondering if somehow it could be wired to plug into the plug in the side of the headlight? Any thoughts would be helpful. Dobie

I know on my sprayer it also has a two wire plug system "red" for positive or HOT wire...and "black" for the ground....you could get a male plug to fit into ur plug on the headlight and wire it up that way.....

But what i did.....i dont know if urs is differant or not...my sprayer already had a plug already on it,....i just wired the one end direct to the battery....and i keep it in the battery back when not in use...and then when i have the sprayer on i just pull it up and up underneath the set..and hook the sprayer up and use the switch thats on the sprayer to turn it off and on....i can take pics if you need...it isnt realy that hard...

On my old magnum i used to have it wired into the headlight switch....so i wouldnt have to turn around at all just turned off and on by that....

Hope that helps...

I wired a lighter to the front of my Scrambler that has a weather resistant cover on it. I bought a lighter end for the sprayer and I just plug it into the lighter when I use it. The lighter comes in handy for other things as well such as my GPS and a spotlight. The only problem with an 18 gallon sprayer on the back of a Scrambler is you can barely keep the front end on the ground when it's full.

Thanks for the replys. So if I wire the male end that will fit into the lighter plug onto the wire and plug in it should work. Right? Dobie

Yes, the hot wire of your sprayer will go to the connection that comes out of the point of the lighter adapter, the negative wire will go to the connection that comes out of the side of the lighter adapter. As far as hooking up the lighter to the quad, I just probed with a test light until I found a wire that was hot with the key on and dead when the key is off. This way, when you shut your quad off, you don't have to worry about letting a plugged in accessory on and draining your battery.
