Default scrambler running hot???? 14 tooth sprocket

two question for a 2000 scrambler 400,

first, where can I get a 14 tooth front sprocket? Hotseat performance does not sell them anymore...

second- having problems with the cooling system, does not get hot enough to turn on the light, but it does get hot enough to fill up the over flow tank and leak from the top of the lid where the pin hole is and the fan comes on, any ideas, thanks...

Hey fourjs. I had the same problem with mine and it was a head gasket leaking. I have found out that the best one to get is a OEM polaris gasket. Here's the link to Sprocket Specialist website. This is where I got mine.

hey duneaholic, whats up??
thanks for the link

thanks for all the replys scrambler123 and quadracer18....

I had already replaced the head gasket, thats why I was ruling that out, got my engine work done from rcr, dailing in the carb now, but the condition was happening before the engine work, anyway, see you at the dunes, breaking in the engine is a pain!!!!!!!!

hey duneaholic, one more question, do you have the part number for the 14 tooth sprocket, I call them and they told me they did not have one for a 2000 scrambler, noticed yours is an 01, are they all the same size for those years??? do you know how much money i am spending to keep up with you??? haha

Sorry James, I couldn't find my receipt on the sprocket but it should be the same as an '01. Your's isn't 4x4 is it? That would be the only thing I could think of to make it different. Actually I have the 14 tooth off of the bike right now and really like the 13 tooth better. Let me know when you're gonna be out at the dunes and I'll bring and we'll see if it will fit and if so I'll let ya have it cheap. I better look for it first. I'm gonna be out at the dunes on Saturday so if you go look for me.

Have you retorqued the head bolts and the cylinder base bolts? Torque should be checked at least once after getting it warmed up real good. Most builders probibly check them a few times just in case.
