what is the quickest wayto start a drag race? Should i rev the motor and pop the clutch at the light or hammer the throttle and drop the clutch at the same time when the light goes? The bike is a 400ex.

Start in the highest gear possible (2nd or 3rd), rev the engine to just before the limiter and dump the clutch. Change your position on the seat to allow for more or less traction. If you are on pavement, you may need to feather the clutch a bit.

 

Rev and dump. The object is to get the tires spinning now. 2nd gear is often used. I personally use 1st, I just cannot get my R to launch in 2nd. I think it's a of weight distribution..meaning my big fat belly don't allow tire spin [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] I try to line up in the marbles if it's that tacky of a track.Now,mind you this is TT racing, but still a green light start, I consider it similiar to your start.
Learning is the key, yes you will raise the front if your not sitting on your gas tank [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
