I have heard some people run without a fan. Is this only for drag racing or for trails as well. A buddy of mine is saying that his 400 overheats all the time while doing fast trail rides even with the fan.
Just curious b/c I will have to buy a new style fan if i need a fan.

Unless your drag racing or in competitions where high wind flow and short operation times are the norm I'd steer clear. Its not worth it.......

The only time you would dare take your fan off if you had a cool head or billet head on your bike. When i first installed one mine my fan would never come on. Did alot of hard riding. So i finally took it off and hook up the fan wire to the oil light. that would tell me to get my quad moving to get more air, but never had to.
