Well my brother sank his 400 kodiak in the river a few weeks ago. We changed the oil on the spot. But we had to ride it back to the truck , about 10 miles. Ran fine during that time . He took it home and parked it for a few days . He started it and it blows smoke really bad, till it warms up then it smokes just a little. If you let it set and cool , then retart it the heavy smoking returns. He has changed the oil several times now . I think he either has a siezed ring or worst case, scratched cylinder wall . What do you guy's think he should do. We are almost to the point of tearing her down for a topend. We used marvel mystery oil in the cylinder to try and free the ring up , if thats the case, but no luck.

My guess is it is your worst fears.Water itself will not hurt anything but the junk in it will.My buddy had a 600 grizz and this was exactly what happened to him at 300 miles. My guess is something got in there and scarred or scratched the walls.
