[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]I AM LOOKING FOR A CLUTCH KIT FOR A 2004.5 SPORTSMAN 400 WITH EBS?????I CAN FIND THEM FOR NON EBS MODELS BUT NOT FOR MY EBS...APPRECIATE ANY HELP...RIDE HARD-RIDE SAFE

Did you try HPD ???? If you don't find one on their website then maybe call them...I'm sure they would have one....Just my guess though

4.5 400 with EBS?....didn't know the 400 came factory with ebs..........

I installrd a heelclicker in mine.....you can change the spring in your secondary from 2-2 to 1-1 to make the EBS engage

Default help!!!!!CLUTCH KIT FOR SPORTSMAN 400

They put non ebs on the 400 because it starts off in a quite a bit lower ratio than EBS clutch system.EBS clutches take away quite a bit of low speed power from the 400 model.The center sprague bearing in the front clutch on a ebs model make the center hub bigger,thus a higher start off ratio and a mechanical loss of low speed power from the resulting low ratio shift gearing. I know it is sometimes done at dealers and featured as an upgrade to a newer system,but ther are definate side effects,and that is why polaris keeps the regular old system on that particular model.If you do prefer to have the superior low speed engine braking ,of course,it is all a matter of preference.
