parking brake cause raptor not to rev.
#1
well when the ds and raptor came out they had a sell on ds's, bought two. well since i've become a single ds person so my brother has a 03 raptor sitting around, 'thought might as well buy it for riding friends. so i get to my friends place she was still at work, so i figure i'll fire up the machines and make sure everything is good to go, the ds is fine and the raptor fires up good idles good but i go to rev the thing and it falls on it's face, i drain the carb bowls change plug and nothing and for some odd reason i take the park brake off and the problem goes away, is this normal or is there a problem in the making? needless to say that hour i spend messing around i was very much sold on ds, but over all it turned out pretty good. have to say i'm not exactly sold on that reverse yet.

Been there. I tried to rev mine with the parking brake on, it sputtered and spit and I was trying to figure out wtf was going on, and with the back firing it blew the carburators off the boots, I was ready to junk the whole thing.
But now its all better.
