Default Question on TRV, and here is the ATV A/C should make

I am wondering a few things, on the TRV, can you take the rear seat off and have a normal rack? It doesn't appear to be like that, but what a great feature that would be. I love the longer wheel base.

Also, when the heck is Arctic Cat going to come out with EFI? I have a magazine from 2002 saying that they are close to relasing one!!!!! Here would be my perfect ATV, 500cc, digital instrumentation including a GPS built into the display, the new 2005 look bodystyle put on the TRV wheelbase, with MRP racks, 2-up rear seat that is removable, have that seat fit into a MRP rear rack so I can ride double, but I want the option of using my full rear rack when needed, it has that TRV nice long wheelbase, Diff-lock, and EFI. To go along with the already great 10" suspension travel (IRS) and 12" ground clearance. 7 gallon tank would be nice too. I guess it better have the Warn 3.0 winch, and some Hotgrips to keep my hands warm in the winter. There, now is that so hard to build???

What do you guys think, anything else that should be added?

Cattleman; I agree with you, more importantly so does my wife. That of course means I could get one as soon as they became available. She already wants the TRV but thinks the changes would enhance the package. The GPS she loves, they have them in their ambulances to be able to call in airlift to the right place and likes my hand held when hunting.

I dunno. The electronics on other things here don't hold up to the 25 below zero. I like taking my GPS indoors (warm) when not being used - it also fits the motorcycle, airplane and truck with inexpensive brackets. I've rolled two quads and the expensive electronic instrumentation isn't so kool when it has to be replaced. Keeping things simple is good enough.

I welded my own MRP rackage on the rear. See it at http://community.webshots.com/user/whodatindamud

I wouldn't mind a larger fuel tank but I've spent a full day in the rocky mountains without running out. (so far)

Theres no such thing as to large of a winch is there? gimmee 6K and 200 feet of cable.

My favorite MRP attachment is the 14 inch chain saw. I've cut so much wood by hand or axe to build a bridge or for muck extraction I appreciate a gas saw.

I would put re-engineering the radiator so it can be cleaned easier on my wish list - And a front trailer ball bracket. The windshields dont work with the front MRP box - fix that. And, the handlebars wont accept the common plug in atv mirror that I've grown to appreciate on group rides.

Call it stupid but I want a horn. A loud horn - one that will get my kids attention riding ahead of me and to raise eyebrows when some idiot cant tell the difference between forward and reverse shift position when parked in a group. Give me a roll bar - a real roll bar - one I can mount lights on the top and a spare tire. The Kolpin light bar is close - but it isnt a roll bar and its taller then needed. The Polaris tank, saddle and fender bags rock over the whimpy AC bags.

Get the heat off my legs - I'm not a heat sink. The Grizzlys dont over heat and they vent the heat down. I want the 650 twin engine - its not a Polaris 700 for HP but its more then the 500. I notice a big perfornance difference at higher altitudes ( over 9000 ft) with bigger engines. I need power - not speed.

Not that it matters - I think AC management is so inbred in its product developement we wont see many of these. Not until John Deere does it first.

hey whodat, i fully 100% agree about the heat deal you reffer to. my cat only has 225mi. and it has gotten hot enough to warp my glove box hinges on my 650. ( ac moved the gas tank to the rear and where the ges tank was is a handy glove box ) i don't think that the engine compartment is vented well enough. i have brought thid up with my dealer and he thinks ac will cover it under war. also, love the mrp chainsaw holder. very usful

A removeable seat on the TRV - now that's an idea. If such a beast existed, I'd probably sell my 500i and get it. The seat is already in two pieces - no reason someone out there couldn't weld up a removeable bracket and start selling it, if AC won't do it.

Diff lock would be nice. Don't need it very often, but when you do, there's no substitute.

Can the electronics - they just crap out. I bought this thing to ride, not to play video games on.

I like the idea of the horn. Nice big twin air horn, make it sound like a freight train. That'll wake up Junior on his banshee.

What's with that wimpy transmission on the 650 that keeps crapping out? Kept me from buying one.

Add two more wheels to the back, and have the ultimate rock crawler. I need more pulling power, more traction.
