New Rider, need a little help

Hello,
I have a 03 400I AC. I like it a lot but it pulls to the left pretty good. Is this normal?? Is the alignment out or do these ATV's just have a lot of torque steer. It is worse in 4 wheel drive. Any suggestions before I start blindly adjusting things?? Thanks alot. Great forum!!

Welcome to the forum.
Air pressure is a good place to start. Always start with the simple things when diagnosing problems. I would then jack up the front end of your ATV and spin the front tires. Do they both spin easilly? If they don't check the break and make sure that it's not hanging up. If they do both spin easilly pump the front brakes a few times and make sure they are both releasing. Check for any looseness in the front end that might be a sign for wear or damage. In the end it may be an alignment problem but I doubt it. There isn't much adjustability built into the front end on these and caster/camber angles that would cause a pull arn't meant to be adjusted so chances are there is some damage somewhere. Check for worn or damaged parts in the rear suspention also as the rear being out can cause a pull too.
Good luck,
Rich.

i had the exact same problem with my 2003 500i and it was the front end out of alignment which a person can do usually yourself but on the arctic cats it is trickier cause the front tires are wider then the back tires but usually you can wrap a string all the way around or my favorite is to put a straight 2x4 on each side making sure the handlebars are straight you can get it perfect i would just make sure the handlebars are straight and look at the front tires really carefully and you might be able to see if one is towed out you can try to do it yourself but would recommend taking it to your dealer then they won't charge hardly anything for an adjustment if anything but good luck and i am sure it is just an adjustment cause like a vehicle it can be off a lil bit and it will pull

check your tire pressure. if thats not the case jack your front end of your quad up and spin each front tire if one tire is really tight that is a cause of your front end pulling

Front left is 8.25lbs, front right is 10 lbs. I haven't tried it since bleeding some off the right side, but from everyone's comments, I bet it will fix the pull. Thanks!!

MMT; Tire pressure is suppose to be 5psi, check the sidewall of the tire and it will tell you what max pressure is suppose to be. You can get away with running a couple of pounds above, but dont get to carried away. Sounds to me like the 8 plus is to high still. To much pressure and the tires don't flex enough and thing penetrate them easier and you get strange steering problems.
