What is beter or worse, to much or to little slack in the clutch cable?
#1
I am adjusting the clutch on a 01 raptor and a 03 Z400 and I don't want to burn out the clutch. on the raptor I did it like the manual said and that was to tighten the adjuster at teh handle bar all the way, and to get the correct slack by using the adjuster down by the clutch, ( I am just a little worried becasue I had to turn the adjuster down by the clutch a lot). My clutch lever is a little worn and bent so it is hard to get a good meassure ment. I heard you can you use a nickel, if that fits does it realy matter where i get the slack from? up top or down by the tranny? thanks

Is the handle suppose to pull back all the way against the perch, or just kind flop around? on my quads the handle kind of flops around, on my street bike it pulls all the way against it, but when you pull on it there is free play (pulls lightly)before you have to use any pressure.

What i have done is loosen the adjuster screw on the clutch lever untill it leaves the clutch lever a little loose. What I did then was to adjust the screw outwards until there is as little play in the lever as possible.
Also give the cable a little maintenance by spraying a little WD40 down the clutch cable.
