Default measuring noise level

anyone know how to properly measure the Db level of their pipe? ever had a ranger do it at a park?

my buddy has a Db meter, but we just want to know how far back to stand with it. and does it need to be checked at a particular rpm range? or just revving it?

my scrambler is loud, but not too loud for me. my buddies complain when they are behind me(cry babies), so i figger i better check it to see if its actually too loud.

lemme know,

X

Most places measure 20" to the rear, and at a 45 degree angle. Est 50% throttle. The Radio Shack digital meter I have has been checked against huge dollar airport units, and sometimes actually displayed readings quicker, and more stable.
