300EX trouble
#1
I still can't get a spark out of my 300EX!
I replaced Coil, Reverse inhibitor box, And the Pick up coil.
No spark nothing..not even the hint of a spark.
Startor works, lights work, everything. But it won't spark at all. Nothing..
The only thing left is my CDI box, and i don't see how it could be that.
The stator is working. When i put a light on the stator wires it lights the light up. So i don't think it's that.
Any suggestions? Anyone want to buy this POS?
Thanks all

How do you know it is not the CDI box? There is no way really to test a CDI box, because the way they are designed. If you know anyone else who has a 300EX put their CDI box in your to find out. IF you tested everything else and they checked out, it more than likely it is the CDI box.

If I'm not mistaken, the black and yellow wire which is connected to the positive side of the coil, is what signals the coil to fire, so it could very well be your CDI. I agree, find another known good CDI and see if that's your problem.
Check this also... Peel back the rubber boot on the stock clutch perch housing, and look for two green wires. Make sure they're connected to the switches inside the perch housing. My 400EX had a similar problem with no spark and/or would only start in neutral, and it was one of these two wires not being connected...can't remember which one though.
