Default Polaris sportsman 500 2000 rear axle assembly

Hi I’m a new Polaris sportsman 500, year 2000 owner.
I got the ATV recently, and it has a rear (gear side) boot broken.
I bought it and I replace it.
The problem is that I’m no sure if I reassembled de axle correctly in the point of the bearing that connects inside the gear case.
I’m no sure of the order of assembly.
Ad the end of the rear axle goes the base center of the bearing that looks like a start hold by a click. Over the start goes the part with six holes were the six ***** fit (It looks like a crown).
The question is if the crown with the six holes has to be place in the axle, before locking the start in place, in order to put the ***** in it, or it has to be mounted after locking the start in the axle to put the ***** in it.
Both options looks to work, but I know that only one is correct.

Thanks for any help

I think what you are refering to is the CV's cage. (ball bearings go inside) There is a notch on one side of the cage that lets you get to the release clip and it goes to the outisde or the open end of the race/hub. Be sure to grease it all up very good before the boot goes on. Hope this helps. Charles

Hi NascarFan

Thanks for your answer.
I mean the way to plase the crown like part that hols the six ball. This part have to be mount from the inside of the axle, or or from the outside of it.

---000---------------X

This is the order of the complete axle

CVjoint, axle, boot, boot, same axle, bearing that fits transmition cage.

The x is the bearing, and it has three parts. the centre that is lock to the end of the axle, the round thin that hold the *****, an the six *****.
Tha question is The round thing(like a crown) fits the center from the inside of the axle, or from outside of it.
