Hey guys tell me if I'm f*@ken crazy or not. I'm thinkin of tradin my 99 Dodge Ram 4x4 club
cab,loaded, 66,000 miles in on a new quad. My wife won't let me work, I've been sittin on my ***
and watchin my two little girls for 5 yrs. now and I'm gettin pissed cause all I do is stay home.
I'm pissed that I don't have the money to get the ZILLA fixed, my boys lt 80 needs repairs,
thats been broke down for over a year now,and all that needs is a simple clutch assembly $75.00
to fix! I can't take it anymore !! I just wanna ride and get the hell out of the house like a normal person but I'm always locked the hell up like a prisoner !! The wife makes good money in case your wondering { she's a highly skilled nurse}. So I was thinkin about tradin that truck in on a new or
a good used one like the LTZ400 and with whats left over get the boys quad fixed and get a older model truck.Your probably thinkin get a night job........NOPE!! I won't leave my kids with a women
thats got a problem with the bottle!!!I love my kids too much to leave them in that kind of situation! So what do ya think? What I should do ?? Am I really that CRAZY or what??I just want some kind of a life..my atv's were my escape now I don't have that getaway for a couple of hours
per week. Should I go for it???

 

Dude....I am not going to touch this advice thing........but man I am sorry of your situation....I have a good friend that went through some simular stuff, I never gave advice, ONLY support!!!!!!! I will say this...if I was there...I would ditch the new truck, and go with an older one...cheaper, cheaper insurance, plus more money for quads, but I am not giving advice here.....good luck, if you ever need to vent, yell at me!

 

hell no u arent crazy...i have found myself wanting to put money into my wheeler instead of buyin a nice car...(im only 15). I would buy some old truck that runs and looks fine, then either fix up ur zilla or sell it and buy a 400. Definately get the kids' LT fixed so u have a riding partner. I would go crazy too if i had to stay in the house all day. Maybe you will have enough money to pick up another hobby...such as nitro powered rc monster trucks that i would sell ya. haha

I think we have other issues here and while you might think a material item will cure what ills you it will only make you feel better in the short run.

Happiness is a state of mind and you need to some how get a more positive attitude.

I would not trade the truck unless you are making payments on it.

All I have to go by is what is written and while its bad for you, you can always look at someone else who has it worse.

I would think quite a few fathers would love to stay at home with there kids and it seems to me you are doing the right thing by being there for your kids.

 

Another thing to add is I don't even have not 1 friend ! I married her 4yrs ago, but have been
with her for about 7yrs.We got married and I was instantly moved into her home town, with me knowing no one at all, and still to this day don't even have a friend cause I'm always stuck home watchin my kids!! The only friends I have are the "UNSEEN" from this forum when my kids are in
bed, or with me when I'm on the puter. I guess I am venting about my life, I guess I've read enough on this forum to think that this is a way for ALOT of us to get on and vent about things in their lives whether it's personal like mine or it be a not so personal vent. Hell I can't even use my truck for that matter !! Being that she's the one with the job she decides whether or not to put gas in it and if it gets gas then it's only to get her where she needs to be with it, and here I am with 2 daughters praying to GOD each day that nothing serious happens to them that I'm gonna need that truck to get them to the hospital, cause she could give a rats *** about keepin gas in it!
I haven't even used the truck in about 3mos, because it's had no gas, now it's startin to rust from
sittin around. I never used to mind her drinkin before we had kids cause thats how we had them
she at least made use of her drinkin, now she drinks and passes out! Boy .... I really needed this vent !! But I still have problems !

 

I would have to say I disagree with RAPTORYFM660r...I would not love to stay home with my children.........I am a very strong christian and try to live my life outlined in the bible. I am the only working one in the family...my wife stays home, home schools the kids, takes carte of the house, and I bust my a$$ as a diesel mechanic to provide for my family as need be. I would not have it any other way, nor would my wife....I love my kids, teach them, play with them, and there is no way I can see myself at home with them......... NOW...BIGGONE....sorry this may not help out your situation but I had to say my point.

I can see why you are upset and if she drinks this much I am shocked that it doesn't affect her job performance.

You need to let her know in no uncertain terms that there is a two way street in this house-hold.

well i dont care how short term the happiness is...gettin away on the weekends is gonna make him happy for that time being. And that sounds like wat he needs...but to me...it sounds like the real problem is the wife's drinking problem...i dont wanna be gettin into it, but tahts wat it seems to me. Why wont she let you get a job, and find a babysitter for the kids?? Im sure this has all been gone through...but if it were me, i would be gettin some AA for the wife...( or something like that )
