Last night at our local drag's, a guy that myself and theraptorman know was seriously hurt when his feet slipped off the peg's of his banshee and got tangled with the tires. His left leg slipped first and was broken, and his right leg went second and was fractured. We haven't heard any new new's, but having him and his family in your thoughts and prayers would be nice. I haven't always gotten along with the guy, but a bad injury like that on the track is bad no matter who it is.

That sounds painful, I hope he has good disability insurance.

Should drag racers run heel guards? I've heard of folks using just the wire frame from the stock guards, any other ideas for light weight protection?

Nerf Bars and a good pair of boots!!! Two of my friends have had to learn the hard way that a pair of nerfs can save your bacon!

 

ouch...that sucks. do you know if he happened to be wearing riding boots. just curious...

 

When the first tire caught him it pulled him to the left and when he tried to hold on, his right leg slipped back off the peg when the left tire suddenly jerked him. More then anything, I think his right leg getting caught was a product of him trying to stay on the quad and not be jerked completely off and onto the ground.
