Wayner National Forest/Awesome Ride!!!
#1
This weekend was a blast. Me and a bunch of buddies went to Wayne National Forest (New Straightsville, Oh) over the weekend. We had a blast. We went for a midnight run on Friday night for a few hours. Saturday we left at 9:30am and returned around 9:00pm. My butt was killing me from the long ride. It was alot of fun. I couldn't believe the trails there. Was a little disappointed in the amount of gravel that they use ont he trails for repairs. For a while, it was like riding on backroads. Other then that, it was great. Lots of mud, and at one point a little too much. I was follwing a guy on a 400X hittin every mudhole until he came on one and dropped in about 3 1/2 ft of watter. It was all rutted out and not a chance of him getting out. Same with a guy on a new Kaw 4x4. Everyone got stuck. Another dude came up on it and we told him to give it a shot. It was a brand new Kawasaki 4x4 with some crazey diggers on it, they kinda looked like the vampire tires, but with huge rubber spikes sticking out of it, a little too much traction. he was almost through and his back tires quit spinning, found out those tires hooked up a little too much and snapped both rear CV's. He left the woods in front wheel drive. Gotta have some give somewhere, and if the tires aint gonna give...the axles will.
Anyway if you ever get a chance to go to WNF. you gotta go, it is well worth the drive. About halfway through our ride, there was a concession stand in the middle of nowhere that had some great food & drinks. The people that we camped with were great people. All kinds of food over the fire and a huge (I mean HUGE) fire to keep warm. A farm up the road sells firewood for $40 a truck load....so we annied up $4 per serson and got wood and ice. The campsite that we stayed out was off of 595, had showers & electric for $20 for the weekend. This was again, my first real ride out on my 2001 Scrammy 500 and it was awesome. I went everywhere the 4x4's went (Realator tires) and it ran awesome.

We rode for about 35 miles and that was a shorter trip. I would say they had over 100 miles in trails. You would like it. There was alot of mud and alot of open trails were you could get on it a little. And a ton of deep wods trails for just cruising.
