I was just wondering, i just read the article on the 2001 Banshee and they indicate the top end is 68mph, and this is the fastest stock ATV in the world as far as i have been told. Well you would think being 2 stroke 2 cylinder liquid cooled.
I thought it would of been up to alteast 80mph, my Grizzly does 61-62mph, that is only 6mph slower than the fastest ATV in the world and the grizz is a sport/utility.
The Banshee gets you there i hear very quick though.
I would like to know my sled does 100mph, and is 2stroke 2 cylinder liquid cooled, why doesn't the banshee come close to this.
Just wondering if anybody has real knowledge, not just talk.
Thanks

They cant make the Banshee too fast otherwise people start getting all worried and upset that there is a ATV that can go 70. I have heard they do like 70 stock and im ALMOST thinking that is an understatement but im not sure. A friend of mine had one who had a pipe, filter, and his bike was clocked at 90 on pavement.......I dunno the Bombardier is sposed to be the fastest STOCK ATV though around 75 or something like that...We can only wait and see what the Raptor is gonna be like.

That 68 Mph top speed on the ATV Connection review was the lowest speed I have ever seen for the Banshee. Low to mid 70s is about right. And yes, I have clocked my own banshee between 72 and 75 Mph with a Garmin GPS III.

I think the Raptor is going to be the fastest stocker around. 68 does seem slow. When I have driven them 80 feels more like it. I mean one of them can literally rocket past my SP even when I am at full speed,(not that i assume that it is even a race between the two) it is like i am standing still. it would be hard for me to believe anything less than 75 for an Banshee.

Yeah.....I could be pegged on my Wolverine and like he said. They passed me like I was sitting still. A zip of color was about all I seen of him.

Actually the Banshee isnt the fastest stock quad ever produced, that would be the LT500 Quadzilla. The Quadzilla's top speed was around 82 i think.

Thats what i dont get.The quadzilla is the fastest quad ever. Then when the ds650 came out they said it was the fastest quad ever and the quadzilla was still faster.I dont even think the raptor will beat it.Think about it 500cc two stroke one word,FAST.

Holy cow, everyone seems to overlook the DS650. WHy is that, it will beat a stock and somewhat modified banshee in a drag race. and before anyone says anything, dont dawg the ds before you ever rode one...i'm not ******* the banshee, they are pretty fast, and i have ridden one, but the ds is playing faster
