CV BOOT NEED HELP

Default CV BOOT NEED HELP

OK I got the cv boot on now how do I get those clamps tightend. Is there a special tool if so can anyone give me the name of the tool and were to get it. I just don't want to get the wrong tool that will fit a GM truck clamp and not my srammy. THANKS!!!

Default CV BOOT NEED HELP

Its called a boot clamp plier. You can go down to Autozone and they have that in their "borrow a tool" program. They just required a $10 deposit

I wish we had a auto zone. Will the tool fit all sizes of clamps???

Im pretty sure it does. Its made for those type of boot clamps. I am sure that your local auto parts store would carry something similar. To be sure, I would take the clamp with you though

Default CV BOOT NEED HELP

Use a good pair of large needle nose pliers. I have replaced several this way. Put the tips of the pliers in the slot in the clamp the little hole then squeeze, squeeze and squeeze a little harder. It helps if you have some extra fingesrs around so you can use both hands to SQUEEZE. Once the clamp is hooked your off to the next one.

THE NEEDLE NOOSE VICEGRIP MAY WORK,I GOT THE PLIERS THROUGH SNAP ON ONLINE .THEY ARE DIFFERANT THAN THE REG BOOT CLAMP PLIRES YOU GET AT AUTOZONE .THEY HAVE TWO VERRY SMALLPOINTS AT THE END THAT FIT IN THE HOLES IN THE CLAMP.WORK VERRY WELL.THEY COST ABOUT 30 BUCKS PLUS SHIPPING ,A BARGAIN COMPAIRED TO MY POLARS DEALERS 95 BUCKS...... NO KIDDIN.
