I believe the only changes from 04 to 05 are graphics and no more aluminum upper A-arms that were on a lot of the 04 models.

2005 DS 650's

Unless someone talks to a Bomb product engineer, we have no clue why they changed back to steel from aluminum. I go 6'2", weigh 295lbs and jump every now and then. I haven't seen any cracks or issues with my 04 uppers. Checkout the compression (see my pictures) of my suspension when I'm trying to put the beast back on the ground. Now that's a little stress.

I hear that the a-arms fold up like a cheap suit on the 04.

There is no '05 Baja DS650, only the Viper Red DS650 and the DS650-X.

Red is faster.

Have yet to hear of anyone on this forum or any other forum actually report an issue with the aluminum A-arms. Where are you getting this information from???
