I was wondering how much it would cost me to bore my raptor out to a 686?

A local shop could probaly put a piston and cam in it for pretty cheap.

Craycraft has a awesome 686 kit for $1600. Includes port work and everything. www.14mins.com

You might want to give Bob and call and see about getting your stock carb's mod'd for the 686, and maybe getting a heavy duty connecting rod.

Some people change the rod and have the crank balenced, and some don't. I wanted the assurance of no major problem's, and had my rod replaced and crank balenced.

imo, you don't need the 102mm (686) bore to make your quad faster. Buy the stock 100mm piston with compression of your choice and a decent cam to go with it and that new found power is plenty for most trail riders. The extra 26cc won't be very noticable imo.

Stock compression. 9:2:1 10:75:1 (11:1) or the 12:1 compression piston can all be had in the stock bore size 100mm. Each one gives you a little more power over the other.
