Default What mods do I need??

I have a 04 Baja X and want to do a few mods to it. I don't want to go internal yet, but want as much HP as possible.
I've thought about the Ron Wood Stage 1 kit. Is that the best kit or is there a better one?
Any opinions would be great!
Also, will I be able to beat a piped and jetted YFZ450 without going internal?

RW STG 1 is a good choice, a few hints get 15t front sprocket w/ it. dont use the clamp on filter, keep the intake tube it creates velocity. if you keep the thumb throttle w/ the tm45 carb the pull will be stiff. if you want it lighter do a search or just ask it can be made lighter. as long as you not 300 lbs or more you will do very well against yfz w/ these mods. Now Ive never raced a yfz yet but Ive been on the fourms a long time and people w/ these mods do ok against piped yfz. it has alot to do with who gets the holeshot I think. JMO I need to find a couple of these YFZs I need to know for real!!

All of this yfz talk. A properly tuned stage 1 will beat a piped and jetted cam modded yfz. It is going to take shifting at the right time and getting the holeshot. I have noticed that it is a little tougher in the sand, especially if they only want to run a couple hundred feet like they do in Little Sahara, OK. On the motor mine will run right with them once they see that I am starting to pull they let off. If it bothers you that bad tell them to take it to the street, then if the ds is tuned properly the ds will leave the yfz. Most of the yfz's in Little Sahara dont want to run any further then they have to. They like to holeshot and maybe shift a couple of times and it is over.
