Big Bear leaking gas all over the ground
#1
I got a 96 Big Bear S.E. 4x4. I was just out riding it then parked it in my garage. A couple minutes later I went into my garage and there was a puddle of gas under it. I rolled it outside and traced the leak. It was coming from a clear tube coming out of the bottom of the carb. The line was just hanging there, with the one side coming out the bottom of the carb. I turned off the fuel line and the leak stoped. The quad still runs, and the wired thing, is that it runs with the fuel line turned to off. Douse anyone know whats wrong, or if that clear line is supposed to connect to something?

Your float has stuck.
The clear line is the overflow.
The reason it will still run is it is using the gas in the bowl and line.
Tap the carburetor on the side with a plastic screwdriver handle or something simular.
If that dont fix it you will have to pull the bowl off and clean the valve.

my atc did the samething. i cleaned a few times and still had the problem. i took another look at it and realized the choke was on the whole time. i got a twistie tie and wrapped it aroung the lever that hooks to the choke lever to keep it off choke. after that it ran perfect and didnt leak gas. i doubt you have the same problem, its probably your float. i would check the choke too for just in case.
