Default LT500R upcoming winter project......

Guys, I'm just gonna get this cylinder fixed { helicoil the stud thats stipped}
and put on the new steering stem and run it for the remainder of the season.
But for the winter I wanna strip it all back down and do things I wanted to do before I ran it.
But what I wanna know is this winter while it's torn down, should I go around and
gusset weld joints{non smoking}LOL!! and shock mount areas?
before I send it out to be powder coated? What particular areas on the frame if any are prone
to weakness that should be addressed?Any other suggestions you may have for me WILL
BE VERY HELPFUL and APPRECIATED!!!

The bracket for the lower steering stem bushing will flex from side to side and crack at the corners, so brace that, too. As far as other weak spots, I'm not 100% where the typical spots are, but what I did with mine was to finish all of the factory welds. What I'm talking about is where two pieces of metal join together and the factory has only welded enough to keep the joint together. They never completely weld anything because of cost and time. It might not be much, but multiply it by several thousand, and you see how it adds up. If you do this, it will help to strengthen the frame. Keep an eye on the portion of the subframe where the rear seat latch goes and rear shock linkage mount, too.

Thanks guys! What gauge steel should I be using the same or maybe alittle bigger?
I just noticed that someone had done a weld on the right side behind the motor
where the frame starts to turn up. I felt around the underside to see if it was all the way around
and it's not, it's just on the very top side that they did that{was a crappy weld} anything
for me to worry about with that? Hope not! I plan on having an old friend of mine do all the weld
work over the winter{he's a pro welder and fabricator}.
Instead of just doing the one cylinder stud{helicoiled} should I have all of them done??
I guess I'm askin because I heard of people doing all at once {so they don't have that problem
of being stripped out}If I do that, does that make it harder for them {machinests} to do
cylinder work for me?How do they bore? Do they put it in a lathe or just how do they do this procedure? Thank you again guys!!!!
