where on the spark plug am i looking for color. is it the tip that bends or the round part thats not metal. and also how long do you have to run it and how fast and what not before you can check for a good reading to check to see if your jetting is good. i know it might sound dumb but i am learning. i realy appreciate any help. thanks.

You need to look at the porcelain part of the plug,or the white part of the plug.If this is on a 2 stroke you are looking for a paper bag brown color. If it is on a 4 stroke then you will want a kina greyish color.A black colored porcelain on either will be an indication of too rich, and a white colored plug would be an indication of them being too lean.If you are using a new plug ,then you will want to ride the bike for a couple of minutes or so ,then you can check it.Hope this helps.
