Default More lights on a '02 AC 500i ???

A few moments ago, I was reading on another forum that someone added more front lights to their 2001 AC-500 unit. They described their factory low beam front lights as bright as a candle, hence the reason why they added additional front lights. They installed 2 x 55W automotive fog lights. And I always thought the front lights on the AC 500 were equal to industry standard. Much brighter then my buddy's Honda ATC-250. Anyway, I'm thinking of doing the same additional front lights to my 2002 AC 500i unit. Has anyone installed 2 x clear lens fog lights to the front of their 2002 AC-500i? If so, how did you do it? re: into the factory ignition / lights wiring or seperate switch & fuse back to the battery?

Thanks.

I think I found the answer in a previous post. Here's the summary:

- Leave low beam bulb as factory.
- Replace factory 27W high beam with 50w bulb (from most auto parts store)
- Factory wiring & charging system should handle 50W bulb upgrades.
- Silicone around light socket to keep out water.

I'll try investigating this possible solution.

I purchased a set of 2 off road lights that are 55 watts each for $12 and bolted them through a piece of 1 inch box tubing. I then bolted this to my rack at first until I got some additional MRP pins and I welded on a piece of scrap metal for the MRP post and now I plug the lights into the MRP rack on the front. I have the sealed switch wired into a plug that I plug into the 12volt accessory plug in the right front fender. The two 55watt bulbs definitely turn night into day and I have not had any problems with blowing fuses or anything. As bright as these lights are you could get away with a single light. I have mine angled at about 40 degrees so that they barely overlap on the trail in front of me and light the sides of the trail while riding along.

Just remember to trun them off if someone is coming down the trail towards you as it is very blinding and not appreciated very much. Also I like having them plugged into the MRP rack and accessory plug as it takes about 2 minutes to remove them if the space is needed.
