I have a theory.....

Ok here is my theory. I think that if someone is a really, really, good trike RIDER then it gives them a extra edge when it comes to DRIVING a quad. 2wheel utility, 4wd, or sport quad, any of the previous.
I feel this is based on the fact that you have to lean a lot on a trike and use more body language to make it do what you want it to do.
Remember, you ride a Trike and you drive a quad. And please dont start the whole "trikes are dangerous" because I dont want this thread to turn into that. I can make a trike go almost anywheres your quad can and put it some places your quad wont go. I know because I have extensive years of experience with both.
So please make your opinions based on the theory I have come up with.
ok? so lets hear what you think of this theory.

When I used to ride 3 wheelers, I remember leaning to the outside, to lift the inside tire,so it could corner. But I dont use that technique on 4 wheelers.
Seems to me, the leaning and body english are opposites, from 3 wheeler to 4 wheeler.
I also seem to pick different lines when running down the trail, on a 4 wheeler, than i would have picked on a 3 wheeler.
But youre probably on to something... 3 wheelers do take more skill and balance, than a 4 wheeler. So if you can master a 3 wheeler, then a 4 wheeler is a piece of cake.

I agree with your theory,,,,,would even go ahead and call it fact.
I dont agree with this though:
With trikes,,,you either 'get the hang of it' or you crash. On a quad,,,you have the luxury of being able to 'drive' it if you want to.
I dont agree with this though:
Remember, you ride a Trike and you drive a quad

Ok, I have both. I have ridden three wheelers for many years and quads for a few months total. First off, how is leaning to the outside of a turn safe or even common sense? If I am going into a fast turn on the trike, I put my whole body into the inside of the turn. Turning left: body is on the left side of the trike. body weight is what helps the rear end kick out and turn faster. Same principle on the quad. I do think that driving a trike for so many years has made me a better quad rider. But both have thier place. A trike is better for just tooling around having fun IMO. wheelies, riding on two wheels, etc. And, I would sooner take my trike into the deep woods (hunting, snow) and not have to worry about all the computers and stuff. I can almost climb the trike as good as the quad. Deff. better than any two wheel drive quad. just my $.02

I guess i drive a horse too, lol. You dont drive quads, you ride them. If you sit ontop of something you ride it, if you sit IN something, like a polaris ranger, you drive it.

I haven't "rode" a 3 wheeler in so long, I can't even remember what it's like. Sorry
