Is there a aftermarket locking front diff for a 2004 500 manual. If so where can i get one. thanks for the help.

 

there had ought to be a company coming out with some kind of locker for the 03 and 04. there are to many people with these machines who want a locker for their 500. the limited slip front end in my 500 is about as worthless as you can get IMO

 

no way man, get a limited slip from a yamaha, or a 300/400 Honda 4x4 or any of the older kawasaki's. They are worse. My Grizzly has a crappy limited slip. Of course it has the locker, but I can tell if its just in plain 4wd that its not as good as the differential in my 99 Arctic Cat was.

 

Yes, there is one out there.....but you need to rip your front end apart and send a piece into the company so they can split some gear to put their parts in. (or something like that) They had pictures and everything on how to do it. There were also some posts earlier on locking differentials. Your best bet would be to search these earlier posts in order to find some info out.

The company that makes it is Canadian. I was looking for one for my 500 TBX earlier and found them on the web. However, I can't find the dang site now.

I have looked, but have not found any lockers for the 03 Cat 500. With the 05's coming with a locker I doubt one will be made, so I have to live with a 3x4 or upgrade to an 05 or buy like $700 worth of parts to put the Cat locker in mine.....probably the route I will take one of these days.
