Tire Slime
#1
I just purchsed a 2004 Rancher AT and love it. I was thinking of putting some Tire Slime in the tires. Has anyone used this product and if so, what are your impressions of it. Thanks in advance for any responses.

I have it in all my quads, dirtbikes, dump carts and even in the small lawn equipment. It has saved me 2 times ( 1 quad tire and one dirtbike tire ) and I didn't realize this until we were home and you can see the green wet spots where it has sealed. For the lawn tractors I can't count the times I have had no flats because of slime.
I didn't know it would freeze but I do keep everything inside. I have never noticed it being out of balance and I thought it would even itself out in the tire but maybe not.

a couple of weeks ago i was at a tire dealer and i was asking if slime would be a wise $10 invesment. he said that he has seen tires that had it and it deteriorates the insides of the tires. this was at a auto tire dealer and he said he had a 600 grizzly with new mud lites on it wit about 250 miles on them and he put slime in them. anyways he said he was out riding and ran over a cut down road sign and it tore a 3inch hole in his tire. so he took off the tire off the rim and scraped off the slime and it had already started deteriorating it. i dont know ho it would do that but he said that wasnt the first time he had seen that happen.

reconman2003,
I am not for sure positive without going to the slime website but I think they have a different formula for street tires.
I have 2 quads that have had slime in there tires since 1998, 1999 and they suggest to rejuice every 2 years.

My personal experieces with it are mixed. The stuff works great at sealing small puntures and leaks. However, I am one of those that encountered a vibration from them. At speeds in excess of 45mph, it shakes so bad that my fillings were going to fall out!!! And yes, I put 1 bottle in each tire and rode it around immediately afterward. I ended up buying new rims this spring. Needless to say, Slime did not go back in. I invested in a plug kit just in case. And I did NOT notice any damage to the inside of the tire from it. It was messy taking the tire off though, but the slime just washes away with hot water.
