Bent axle? Bent rim? a loose wire? Damn!
Now there were some issues with some suppliers of thermo sensors for Bombardier, you might still be able to get a warranty claim as they know they have a problem. There is still a warranty "campaign"
for those sensors.
Gotta remember that Bombardier went through the equivalent of a divorce and custody battle over the last couple of years. It took its toll on product. Since this has all been resolved quality has improved, suppliers have been reigned in and all is well.
If you really think you've got a lemon, trade it in on a new '05 DS. The new red color scheme on the Viper is awesome, it weighs a bunch less, and the shorter swingarm hooks up really good. And I swear they are faster than they used to be.........

Fourlix, I think the the newest DS's are faster and I believe it is for the most part due to the lightened hubs and I believe the axle assembly is lighter as well. The shortened swingarm also allows for a better hookup to a point and the overall weight loss helps as well. I personally doubt their were internal engine changes as far as performance goes.
Sparky, sorry to hear about your problems, everyone will have a few if they keep their quad long enough but it sounds that you have more than your share and that isn't right for what I consider a new quad.

once a bomb rider-always a bomb rider! ive got to keep it. its been the funnest wheeler i had yet! a little TLC and ill get it going again. i mean hek, everthings broke already, what else can go wrong! oh yeah! i stopped at a BMW cycle dealer to see if they might have a intake boot for my ds, since bmw uses the rotax in some of its bikes. well they did not have one. but the good news is, the 650 rotax thats in the bike uses a twin carb set up, and looks like it would bolt up to the ds, do you guys think that would be any good using twin carbs? he said for the set $379 . anybody else have any ideas or expereince with this? just wondering, cool thought!
