I just bought a honda 200s three wheeler. The guy said when it was running, you could ride it for a little while before it would get hot. He said when it got hot, it would die and you wouldn't be able to start it for a while. I picked it up last night. I took the carb off and cleaned it real good and put new spark plug and air filter. I haven't even tried to start it yet though because the gas tank had a bunch of rust in it. I am foing to get it good and cleaned out tonight. Does this sound like it may be the ignition coil to any of you. If you have any other suggestions to what you think it may be, please let me. I would greatly appreciate it.

Yea it sounds like it could be the coil. Check the spark while its cold and again when it wont run. No spark or weak spark could indicate a bad coil. the reason I say to check it cold is so you can compare it to what you have when it is hot. If you have an OHM meter check the resistance of the coil cold and hot also. I don't know the specks off hand, but if you get a base line when it is working you should be able to see a difference when it is not if the coil is the problem. Is this electronic ignition or points? I haven't fooled with those machines very much. If it's points and condensor try changing them also.
