Pissed at Yamaha for the last time!

For those that read my yamalube post...here's the latest scoop! My engine broke a valve which damaged the piston and punctured the head. Great. But also, the cams were already showing grooving in their slots. And of course, the dealer just tottaly rebuilt my engine 2 months ago, I'm talking everything new but the transmission and clutch. All this now, and Yamaha is not going to stand behind the work cause they said since it ran for 2 months, it's nobody's fault. So it's gonna cost $500 in parts and still have questionable reliability for the engine. And of course, the head is backordered. So I would just like to announce that I have a little anger towards yamaha, my quad will be for sale, and I'm most likely going to go back to riding a Predator. Granted it's not a rocketship, but it never let me down...nor did the company!!

Maybe I should be asking for a vote? Who thinks I should go to back to a predator, or who thinks I should have some faith and buy an 05 YFZ and consider my current one a lemon?

is it still under warranty? like someone else said in the other post there are lemon laws for cars not sure if it extends to quads but if your car has been in the shop a certain % of the time youve had it they have to take it back not sure on all the details but i would look into it and is it the local dealership that wont do the work or is this handed down from the yamaha office either way its bullsheet and at the very very least they could do all the work free and give you parts for their cost.customer relation is everything in the motor cycle world happy customers come back and back and back again its all about trust and i would say you dont trust them farther than you can throw your quad i hope it all works out for you

a lemon is a term to describe something that no matter what you seem to do to it it doesnt work right a fluke i guess cause it sours you or leaves a sour tatse in your mouth so to speak

Yamaha currently is the Polaris of the early 90's. Yamaha's quality control & standardization seem to be weak points. Might explain why some 450's & 660's are pretty fast & some that come down the same line aren't. Polaris has stepped up their game & aren't a joke anymore. After the 01 Raptor & 600 grizzly fiascos I'm gunshy about Yamaha products. And to think I almost bought an 01 Raptor!!!! That was close!
