Is there any? I would rather not hassle with repacking as I do a lot of riding and 30 hours comes pretty quick. Please, if anyone knows, I'm just a couple days away from getting a new pipe but need advice. thanks in advance!

drag pipes

packing is a part of life (exhaust packing)

It is easy,,,and it sounds good when you do it.

It isnt a hassle....its just maintenance.

repacking every 30 hrs????

maybe if you were very retentive!!

300 hrs maybe a little more realistic (at least for a 4 stroke)

I called white bros. and asked them how often you had to repack their e-series and they told me every 30-50 hours. That is why I am so hesitant to buy a pipe that needs repacking.

Actually........I believe that MBRP makes a chambered pipe that doesn't have packing. I have been told that HMF also is producing a pipe without packing.

Whether or not there are apps for Wolverine is another question, tho.

Oh, BTW, my R4 is 2 years old, and not been repacked yet. I can't say that it is any louder than new.

Thanks Lotus, I am looking into the MBRP pretty seriously now. It seems to be pretty quiet, great fit and finish, and no repacking. Now I just need to find a price on one. If anyone reads this and knows how I could get ahold of a used one I would be greatly appreciative, or I might just crack and buy a new one. I don't remember where I saw, but I thought someone said a new one was around $300.

Rock, keep in mind the MBRP is not USFS approved for spark arrestor, you may get fined when riding public land if you get checked. FMF Powerline is an all stainless steel baffled muffler that never needs packing, I am seriously looking into it myself.

95wolv, the powerline does seem like a nice pipe but I haven't heard many people on these forums that have it. I'm sure you've been researching this, but here is a website I found that has it for $240. I'm glad you told me about this, definitely got my interest now. Thanks, and please keep me informed if you find out any more about it.

FMF powerline
