I need opinions/pros and cons of the "R" and the banshee speed, handeling, upkeep. I have been riding for a few years on a 250X and now I am looking for more speed. Moto X and sand dunes will be my playground.

Thanks
Dale

I don't know from experience though I have ridden both. But the 250r seems to be the favorite of the moto X riders. The 250r I rode was a highly modified one that the guy races. It had an unbelievable power band. When you got into the power band it was like hey can I come too, you really had to hang on. Though I ride a 400ex, in my opinion whether right or wrong I would say go for the 250r. But that is just my opinion.

Considering where you're going to be riding i would go with the 250r but that's just my opinion.

I'd go with the Banshee because you can buy one brand new, and not have to worry fixing up a used 250r. Both are good at moto x, but the 250r is better at it. As for sand dunes the 250r is good there to, but the banshee rules supreme there.

Both are awsome machines for sure. So making a choice can be difficult.

Hmm Both are awesome machines.
Banshee and the 250x are a blast in the dunes. Banshee is the king of the dunes, no comparison. But for the track, most perefer the 250x do to the lighter feel.
Both have many aftermarket accesories and performance parts. The Banshee is still in production therefore parts are easily accesible.

thanks for the responses. I have found a Banshee and I am leaning that way due to the age of the quad and the mods done. All I will need to do is keep it maintained all else is done.

Thanks

If you have a chance to buy a 250R take it, because you are never going to find a 250r that is in bad shape, they are all race ready, and dont need to be repaired!

the 250R is the king of MX but the banshee is the king of sand but they can both be ridden in both but each one is best at its own thing I would get a 250R because that is what the pros ride and you can do so much on them and you can mod them like crazy
