honda made the recon then the made there version off the recon then honda made the 250ex and then suzuki made the z250 and the kfx 400 and the z400 is the same what is going on here

 

an alliance between companies....it boosts sales because some people are more partial to one company then others

 

Suzuki's tactic seems to be to watch what everybody else does, and then bring out the same thing with a few improvements. Add to your list, the Z400. It is just a 400EX knowkoff, with a better engine. Soon, we should see a Z450 knockoff of the Yamaha and Honda.

 

alright some of them are alliance stuff....they are just tryin to keep up with the current market I guess...kinda like artic cat with their 650...same as kawis basically

 

Suzuki had a 250 out before the Ozark, it was out in the late 90's with the Recon, it wasn't a knockoff of the Recon either, it outperformed the Recon in every way I can think of, I had one. The z250 is just competition for the 250ex, there is a market out there just like any other products, if nobody wanted something different everyone would be driving Ford's because that would be the only vehicle out. The Z400 and KFX400 is just what MnFriesen said. Also, ridinsmooth, since Suzuki created the first 4 wheeler, does that make everyone else that came out with one after a copier as well? I guess you haven't thought about that have you?

Is something wrong with this?Take a look at the competiton and then improve on it.Its called a wise business decision if you want your company to survive.Do you think Honda didn't take a look at the YZF 450 before they finalized theirs?They may not have changed anything but you can bet they looked it over very carefully.

And where did you read that somebody said there was something wrong with that???

Not only did Suzuki give us a better engine in the Z400, but also slightly better handling and suspension. And, they also included reverse at no weight penalty. So I bought one!

 

Seems like Suzuki's philosophy(sp?) makes sense to everyone but ridinsmooth.
